Why You Should Elope!

Listen, elopements are getting really popular. Let’s talk about why! When you elope it’s usually just you and your partner, your officiant (unless you’re in a self-solemnizing state like Colorado 😆), and your photographer and videographer if you have one. Sometimes it includes a few family members or friends. Either way, it’s very intimate and special!
When you elope you get to have a special moment with the love of your life with little distractions. It can be in a beautiful and breathtaking place where you wouldn’t be able to have a big wedding! You get photos that are mainly focused on you and the most important day of your life.
And let’s face it, weddings are HARD to plan and require a lot of forethought, along with so many details and moving parts. That’s not to say that big weddings aren’t beautiful and fun! But the fact is, they’re not for everyone. If you are dreading all of the planning or you have even started already and it’s just not going how you thought it would or it’s more stressful than you can handle, ditch it! You read that right, DITCH THE BIG WEDDING!
Now don’t get mad at me…but…not only is the planning a lot, but if you have nosey family members, they may try to butt in and make sure you know what their opinion is on YOUR decisions. Not that we don’t love Aunt Nelly, but girl, it’s time for her nose to take a backseat. With an elopement it takes those variables out. You no longer have people trying to control your every move.
Now that’s not to say you can’t also have a big party! You can both! You can elope in private and then plan a big reception for all of your friends and family to party and celebrate your union! And maybe even have some drinks too! Just make sure your elopement is documented so you can share all the beautiful pictures and videos with your family, maybe even make a slideshow!
And last but definitely not least. IT’S CHEAPER! Listen, weddings are expensive! With an elopement you can have a beautiful (possibly free) spot along with your dream outfits and not have to pay for all the extras that come with a big wedding. It’s an all around win!
